To close out one heck of a 2016, Vault and Taka Hayashi are renewing their partnership with the famous Smethwick saddle makers Brooks England. Brooks has been crafting the highest quality leather bicycle saddles since 1886. Their previous, hand-numbered collaboration with the Vault line is one of the most coveted Era LX's around. This time, to celebrate each brand's 50th and 150th anniversaries, Taka Hayashi added his own touch to the OG Slip On LX and OG Sk8 Hi LX.
The OG Slip On LX features an all premium leather upper in both brown and contrasting black. The brown quarters are expertly etched with Taka's native-inspired Peyote Bird design. The heel counter also feature etched design work while the black ankle collars break up the brown panels.
The OG Sk8 Hi LX has the same color and material blocking at the OG Slip On LX. Taka's skillfully and inspired design work is etched into the black, premium leather quarters as well as the heelcounter. Leather laces, Taka Hayashi branded leather tongue labels and dual branded heel pads finish off both pairs. Each will also come packaged in Peyote Bird black, premium drawer boxes and dustbags.
Taka and Vault also worked with Brooks England on a new Swift Saddle and Barbican bag. Both the saddle and the leather accents on the messenger-style bag feature Taka's Peyote Bird etchings. These two pieces will be extremely limited.
The Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi x Brooks England collection releases Saturday, December 3rd, at Vault stockists around the world. Retail for the footwear will be $120 and $150 respectively.
