For over a decade now, Nin Truong has brought thoughtful and inspired styles and designs to his Tokyo and Seattle-based shop Maiden Noir. Combining inspiration from America's Pacific Northwest with high-quality materials sourced and constructed in Japan, he has continued to offer up classic and nuanced collections. To commemorate 10 years in the business, Maiden Noir has teamed up with Vault to produce three limited OG silos.
The OG Old Skool LX features a premium, long-haired cowhide suede dyed in a deep forest green. A smooth leather tonal jazz stripe lines both sides. The tonal color blocking of the upper is broken up by contrasting black stitching, collar lining, laces, and stripeless foxing.
For the OG Half Cab LX, we are treated with the same nappy suede upper, this time in a vivid white. The same color blocking technique is used here, with black collar linings, midsoles, stitching, and laces. A white on white Half Cab woven label is stitched on each shoe's lateral aspect, while a black and white dual branded label is used on the tongue.
We see a similar approach on the OG Sk8 Hi LX that we saw on the Old Skool. This time, the hair suede is dyed in a vibrant navy. The all tonal upper uses the same smooth leather jazz stripe and contrast black stitching and midsole as the previous models. A black on black dual branded Maiden Noir and Vans Originals label is affixed to the tongue. All three feature co-branded heelpads and come packaged in a dual use dustbag.
The Vault by Vans x Maiden Noir collection is available now from Opening Ceremony Omotesando in Tokyo as well as Maiden Noir Japan. A global release is scheduled for December 15th at Blends SD, Blends CM, Union LA, Opening Ceremony NY, Likelihood, and Need Supply. The collection retails for ¥17,280 and ¥18,360.
