We often see Vans teaming up with international brands in Europe and Asia but something from down under doesn't usually come up. Australian skate brand Pass~port has partnered with the Pro line of Vans on a capsule including two shoes, shirts, and caps. The brands took design inspiration from Australian and New Zealand heritage as well as other the brand's previous collaborations to help shape the collection.
The Old Skool Pro arrives in white and brown suede colorways. The nappy suede adorns the vamp, eyestays, and heel counters while a washed canvas covers the quarter. On the brown pair, the white jazz stripe stands about against the canvas. Pass~port decided against the traditional woven tongue labels and instead went with their own embroidered branding along the tongue.
The white pair has similar blocking of the browns without the contrasting jazz stripes. The hairy suede seems to be a bit more of a turtledove color while the washed canvas has less of a worn in look due to the nature of the color. The collarlining in brown is a nice constrast against the white uppers. Both shoes boast the brand's motto embroidered on each heel counter, with "INTERNATIONAL," on the left and "SOLIDARITY," on the right. You guys know how we feel about embroidery. More please. Both shoes will also arrive in custom boxes, which is another thing we can't get enough of.
Along with the shoes, two shirts and caps will also be available in the collection. The caps have Pass-port logos on the front while the pocket tees opt for dual branded woven labels on the pockets.
The Vans x Pass~port Old Skool Pro will be globally available from finer core-skate shops like Silo in Omaha on Saturday, August 13th for $70. Check your local Vans Skate shop for availability. Meanwhile, check out the promo video that the brands put out below.
