For those who don't know, Salman Agah started skating at the age of 5. Stacy Peralta spotted him 11 years later and was so impressed with his skill, he sponsored him almost immediately. Shortly after, Salman joined the ranks of the Powell team with legends Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Tony Hawk, Ray Barbee, and Tommy Guerrero. as of 1994, Salman had already cemented his place in skate history but Vans took it one step further and offered him a signature pro model. At the time, Vans only had one other skater with a signature model, Steve Caballero. The Salman Agah Pro would be the second signature model from Vans would be one of the first to feature the rubberized toe-cap. Now, the next time somebody tells you that Vans is copying the HUF Cromer, you can correct them. All hail the Switch God.
The 50th Anniversary reissue drops in the original black and white suede colorway from 1994. The contrasting white stitching and stripeless white foxing break up the premium black suede uppers very nicely. This shoe marks the return of one of our favorite woven tongue labels, the Salman Agah elephant. It's been years since we've seen this design and it brings us so much joy to have it back on shelves.
The Vans Pro Classics 50th Anniversary Salman Agah Pro '94 Reissue is available now from SILO. Check your local core skate shop for availability. Retail is $70.
