Ever since the release of the first OG silos in the Vault by Vans line a few years ago, we have been begging for more. The Originals line has remained a staple of the brand ever since and in the last couple of years has exploded in popularity. With the success of the 50th Anniversary Pro Classics, Vans has created a new line featuring OG stylings that is a bit more accessible to the common consumer than the LX line can be.
First, here's what Vans has to say about the collection:
The Anaheim Factory DX pays tribute to our first Vans factory in Anaheim, California, by borrowing details from the original silhouettes and offering modernized comfort with upgraded UltraCush sockliners. The Anaheim Factory styles also includes throwback details, using the original style number and color palette, higher glossed foxing tape, cotton laces, original drill lining weight and a heavy 10 oz. canvas to complete the look.
For our part, we love them. Some longtime fans of the brand are hailing the Anaheim Factory collection as true remakes of the original pre-90's Made in the USA lines that we reminisce over. With the addition of the UltraCush HD insoles, are these better than the offerings from Vault? That may be a bit of a stretch to say at this point, but they are certainly closing the gaps. The little details like the style numbers displayed on the inside of the woven tongue label and the heelpads are what really set these apart from any other DX or Classics model out there.
This selection of the Vans DX Anaheim Factory Collection is available now from Omaha's Silo Store and retail from $75-85. It looks like Vans is going to be pushing these hard this season and there are far more colorways and models available that we have not shown here. Be sure to check your local shop for different styles and colors.
