BLENDS x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Zip LX "Peacoat" - Exclusive Photos

After some teasing last month and lots of rumors, Southern California's BLENDS has released the official images and information on the 4th installment of the bones striped Sk8 Hi Zip LX. This time, the design team at BLENDS chose a tonal peacoat blue upper and black bone jazz stripe to sit on top of black striped white foxing. This color blue is very dark and you can only really see the blue hues on the raw edges of the leather and in natural light.

The leather chosen is the same type of motorcycle jacket leather used on the black/white Sk8 Hi and Old Skool Zip LX from previous releases. A black outsole, black heel tab, formal flat black waxed laces and dual branded leather sock liners finish off the pair.

The BLENDS x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Zip LX "Peacoat" will be available in very limited numbers on Saturday, May 7th at BLENDS locations as well as online.

BLENDS x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Zip LX "Bones" Spring 2016

BLENDS sent out a sneaky email this afternoon. It was simply entitled 2016 Spring/Summer Feature. Contained in the lookbook was a myriad of style from Gosha and other designers. Two images contained on foot shots of a new BLENDS collaboration with Vans Vault.

Blue/black? Black/black? Your guess is as good as ours. Expect more info soon.

RAISED BY WOLVES x Off The Hook x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Zip LX and Old Skool Zip LX

After much teasing and rumors, we finally have full release details and images of the highly anticipated collaboration between Canada's Raised By Wolves, Off The Hook, and Vans Vault.

via Off The Hook:

We are proud to introduce the latest chapter in OFF THE HOOK’s ongoing Vans OTH project, and a collaborative endeavour with Canadian brand Raised by Wolves. The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been conceived around Montreal’s precocious weather and the concept of intertwining different relationships and materials into a single project.

The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack represents two of the most important relationships in Canadian streetwear coming together under a single project. The Vans OTH project has provided the most important selection of Vans in Canada, as well as a number of notable collaborations, while OFF THE HOOK and Raised by Wolves have been longtime partners, often teaming to launch Raised by Wolves’ seasonal collections at the Montreal shop. These two relationships coming together inspired uniting suede and leather on a single pair of shoes.

The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been built around two classic Vans silhouettes, the Sk8-Hi LX and the Old Skool Zip LX, with a number of modern twists applied to each that transform both pairs into weather-ready sneakers that merge Vans’ strong history with OFF THE HOOK and Raised by Wolves’ modern streetwear aesthetic. Both the Sk8-Hi LX and the Old Skool Zip LX feature leather and suede panelling, with the left foot constructed from a premium leather upper and suede toe box, while the right foot is constructed using premium suede for the upper and leather for the toe box. Both pairs have been outfitted with water-resistant Scotchguard technology, sealed zippers, and gusseted tongues, to ensure that Montreal’s temperamental weather doesn’t dampen your feet, or your mood. The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been outfitted with Vans MTE soles, to ensure maximum grip in slippery conditions. Additionally the Sk8-Hi LX and Old Skool Zip LX feature  reflective Jazz Stripes to make sure that both pairs are as equipped for the night, as they are for the day.

The Vans x OTH x Raised by Wolves pack will be released in-store at OFF THE HOOK and online on shop.offthehook.ca and raisedbywolves.ca on Saturday, February 27th at 11am. The Sk8-Hi Zip LX retails at $180CAD, while the Old Skool Zip LX checks in at $150CAD.

Mike's BLENDS x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi Zip LX

Two years ago, Vault collaborated with Southern California's BLENDS to create what is arguably one of the most sought after pairs of Vans in history, the black and white Sk8 Hi Zip LX with bone jazz stripe. Limited to only 100 pairs, there are still plenty of Waffleheads who can't track down their sizes (and some with a couple pairs on ice). BLENDS wanted to highlight how well the shoes age, so today they posted some photos of co-owner Mike's pair. These were constructed of premium motorcycle jacket leather uppers and you can tell that they hold up to the damage of daily wear. While synthetics and lesser quality materials wouldn't last, the BLENDS have only gotten better with the grime and punishment Mike has put them through. This pair is definitely getting better with time.
