Nibwaakaawin x Pendleton x Vans Collection for All Nations Skate Jam 2016

Each year, the All Nations Skate Project produces the "All Nations Skate Jam" (ANSJ), the largest and most prestigious skateboard competition for Native youth. ANSJ brings together Native-American skate companies, youth groups, non-profit organizations, skaters, musicians, dancers, artists, filmmakers, traditional craft vendors, contemporary artisans, and many others in a two-day festival and skate competition. The goal of the ANSJ is to give the reservation, pueblo, urban, and suburban Native youth a central gathering place to meet and celebrate their diverse Native cultures while competing in skateboarding.

To that end, Vans teams up with New Mexico non-profit Nibwaakaawin and Pendleton Woolen Mills to create limited editions sneakers for this event. This year's collection consists of two pair of Old Skools and Slip Ons . All pairs feature unique weaves from Pendleton implemented into their design.

The 2016 collection from Nibwaakaawin x Pendleton x Vans is available for preorder now from NativeSkates on eBay. Be sure to check out the Skate Jam on April 30th if you are able to make it.

Vault

Pendleton x Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Collection

The other day, we brought you news of Vans Classics' collaboration with Pendleton Woolen Mills. Today, we get finally present the long awaited Taka Hayashi x Pendleton round two collection. The first time Taka partnered with Pendleton, we got a Sk8 Hi LX and Slip on LX that are widely revered as one of the best Vans ever made. Taka chose the Sk8 Hi Huarache LX for this go round, which has a bit of a different silhouette and color blocking than the Sk8 Hi. The Slip On LX returns with familiar blocking, albeit different coloring options. The Pendleton wool panels for both models are taken from different design elements of the Taka-designed camp blanket, which is also available in this collection. The camp blanket is a special piece, dual branded with woven Pendleton Woolen Mills and suede Taka Hayashi Vault labels. It comes complete with leather carrying strap. A custom designed drawer box and dust bag which mimics the blanket design really finishes off this collection. This is the type of design we have loved about Taka for years now and we are really happy to see him collaborating with Pendleton again.

The Pendleton x Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Collection will release this Saturday, November 28th, at Sole Classics as well as other Vault retailers around the globe. The Slip On LX will retail for $120, while the Sk8 Hi Huarache and camp blanket will cost $150 and $300, respectively.

Special thanks to James Drakeford for the photos.
