Last year, Vans introduced the Lite technology to Classic silhouettes and also brought the materials to an Authentic with the help of KICKS/HI in their Mynah Bird collaboration. Now, the brains behind the Lite moniker are bringing the materials to the Vault line in the way of three new models: the Authentic, Old Skool, and Sk8 Hi LX Lite.
Vans pairs their proprietary CMEVA-bases Ultracush Lite cushioning system for footbed and outsole with premium leather uppers to recreate the normal look of a Vault but with a far more comfortable and lighter feel.
With this first drop, we get two colorways each of the Old Skool LX Lite and Sk8 Hi LX Lite: white/black and gray/white. For the three pairs of Authentic LX Lites, the brand decided to go the monotone route and give us all black, gray, and white pairs with matching mids. Leather tongue tags, sockliners, and Vans flag tags finish off each pair.
The Vans Vault Lite LX Collection releases today online and in store at BLENDS. Check your local Vault stockists for availability.
Chicago boutique and clothier Saint Alfred has teamed up with Vans Vault to create their second collaboration with the waffle sole. This time around, STA chose the Old Skool LX as their canvas. Like the Chukka Boot from 2012, the Old Skool LX's will feature a resin treated canvas upper that help the wearer defend against the harshest of conditions in the Windy City. One of our favorite features is the STA773 that is printed in morse code on both midsoles. We really wish this midsole printing would catch on more; we can't get enough. Both shoes will also feature a dual branded leather footbed and will come packaged with a dustbag in a special drawer box that is hand numbered and sealed.
The Saint Alfred x Vans Vault Old Skool LX will be available this Saturday, April 9th in store only at Saint Alfred on a first-come, first-served basis. Any remaining pairs will be available the following day online.
After much teasing and rumors, we finally have full release details and images of the highly anticipated collaboration between Canada's Raised By Wolves, Off The Hook, and Vans Vault.
via Off The Hook:
We are proud to introduce the latest chapter in OFF THE HOOK’s ongoing Vans OTH project, and a collaborative endeavour with Canadian brand Raised by Wolves. The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been conceived around Montreal’s precocious weather and the concept of intertwining different relationships and materials into a single project.
The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack represents two of the most important relationships in Canadian streetwear coming together under a single project. The Vans OTH project has provided the most important selection of Vans in Canada, as well as a number of notable collaborations, while OFF THE HOOK and Raised by Wolves have been longtime partners, often teaming to launch Raised by Wolves’ seasonal collections at the Montreal shop. These two relationships coming together inspired uniting suede and leather on a single pair of shoes.
The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been built around two classic Vans silhouettes, the Sk8-Hi LX and the Old Skool Zip LX, with a number of modern twists applied to each that transform both pairs into weather-ready sneakers that merge Vans’ strong history with OFF THE HOOK and Raised by Wolves’ modern streetwear aesthetic. Both the Sk8-Hi LX and the Old Skool Zip LX feature leather and suede panelling, with the left foot constructed from a premium leather upper and suede toe box, while the right foot is constructed using premium suede for the upper and leather for the toe box. Both pairs have been outfitted with water-resistant Scotchguard technology, sealed zippers, and gusseted tongues, to ensure that Montreal’s temperamental weather doesn’t dampen your feet, or your mood. The Vans x OTH x RBW Pack has been outfitted with Vans MTE soles, to ensure maximum grip in slippery conditions. Additionally the Sk8-Hi LX and Old Skool Zip LX feature reflective Jazz Stripes to make sure that both pairs are as equipped for the night, as they are for the day.
The Vans x OTH x Raised by Wolves pack will be released in-store at OFF THE HOOK and online on shop.offthehook.ca and raisedbywolves.ca on Saturday, February 27th at 11am. The Sk8-Hi Zip LX retails at $180CAD, while the Old Skool Zip LX checks in at $150CAD.
Opening Ceremony and Vans Vault have been teaming up for sometime on some successful models. Today, OC announced four new exclusive colorways of the Sk8 Hi and Old Skool LX. This time around, you can take your choice of a tonal, all beige mock up or a white upper with gum sole. Dual branded sock liners finish the models off.
The Opening Ceremony x Vans Vault Sk8 Hi and Old Skool LX are available now exclusively from Opening Ceremony, both instore and online with prices ranging from $100-120.
