This summer, Vault by Vans collaborates with Brain Dead, a creative collective of artists, musicians and designers from all over the world, to create a nine-piece capsule collection inspired by the spirit of subculture. The collection presents unique iterations of Vans classic footwear, apparel and accessories in faded shades of pink, green and yellow with custom hieroglyphic designs.

After nearly a year of speculation and leaks of various samples, Vans has released final information and photos for the Fall 2015 WTAPS collection. We were initially going to publish this tomorrow morning, but then we realized that some shops might be releasing at midnight. The full collection will consist of 8 pairs. Three Era OG LX's, two Sk8 Hi OG LX's, and three Style 36 OG LX's. Let's break them down a bit.
The Eras have an all white canvas upper with solid colored mid and outsole. The theme with these models is a nod to Japanese primary school uniforms in which the color of a shoe's soles directly corresponded to the grade of the wearer. You get your choice of red, blue, or green outsoles to pick from. The WTAPS flag tag and dual branded insoles are also nice touches.
We have gone over the Style 36's in some detail previously, and there is not much else to report on these. We have three colorways to choose from: navy, black, and wine. All are done up in premium suede with full grain tumbled leather jazz stripes. All have tonal midsole and outsoles. Military style WTAPS woven labels adorn the tongues.
The two colorways of Sk8 Hi OG's have also been reported on at some length. From the looks of it, the black pair seems to have some hints of navy in the dye, as can be seen in closeups. The croc print really sets these apart and stand out mostly on the gray colorway. All black midsoles finish these off.
The WTAPS x Vans Vault Collection will release tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th at Vault accounts worldwide. Being that this is a Vault release, not all accounts will release on the same day and you would do well to check our Vault Locator tab and ask your local which day they will put their stock on the floor. Also, even though there are 8 pairs in this collection, these are WTAPS so we don't expect them to sit for very long. If you are on the fence, it may behoove you to just purchase them for retail rather than pay resale prices later.

Finally, after leaks and rumors, we get a full, clear shot of what WTAPS and Vault have in store for us this holiday season. From the looks of this shot, we have three Era LX's that we have not seen yet, each with white uppers and a colored midsole. Along with the wine colored Style 36 LX, we also have a black and navy pair. Rounding out the footwear, we have the Sk8 Hi LX's we brought you leaked images of previously. Alongside the footwear, there appears to be at least one piece of apparel, a dual branded coach's jacket, but we are hoping to see at least one tee with the same design.
The WTAPS x Vans Vault Fall/Winter Collection is slated to drop this fall at Vault retailers around the world. Keep it plugged in here for full release information as it becomes available.
Vans continues to celebrate their 50th Anniversary with more vintage models. Today, we get a look at a pair of OG Era LX done up in red canvas and blue suede. Vault keeps it simple by forgoing the foxing stripe on the all-white midsole and finished the pair off with a red Originals tab. Some in the forum are referring to these as the "Poor man's Diemmes." If stiff leather and the $300 price tag aren't your thing, these are a perfect substitute.
The Vans Vault OG Era LX Dark Blue/Cranberry is available now from Proper LBC as well as other Vault stockists around the world.
New for July, Vault is releasing another collection of OG silhouettes in simple, classic colorways.
The black and white check pattern returns to the side wall of the Sk8 Hi OG LX with the classic Vans logo dispersed throughout. The Era LX gets the same check treatment but boasts an all-over printed canvas upper. The other Sk8 Hi LX from this drop is done in deep red canvas and suede with a white Jazz stripe that breaks up the tonal design well. Both Sk8 Hi's sit atop stripeless white mids while the Era LX opts for a black foxing stripe. All three are finished with red Originals logos on the heel tabs.
The new Vans Vault Sk8 Hi and Era OG LX for July will be available today in-store and online from Hot Rod LA at 11 AM PST. They should arrive at other Vault stockists in the coming weeks.
