Vans Japan, BEAMS, and Sasquatchfabrix get together for an Old Skool JP with never-before-seen features.
Japanese clothier BEAMS continues its 40th birthday celebration by partnering with the archipelago's cut and sew masters Sasquatchfabrix and Vans Japan on a new style of the Sk8 Hi JP. Going with a navy colored upper and contrasting stitching, Sasquatchfabrix decided to add their elastic banding to the tongue of the Sk8 Hi, a first for the model. Triple branded sock liners and a white mid finish this pair off.
We are a little late on bringing you this news, as the Sasquatchfabrix x Beams x Vans Japan Sk8 Hi "Oriental Skate" collection released on April 1, however keep an eye on BEAMS for a potential restock.
Japanese retailer BEAMS is celebrating their 40th anniversary and has partnered with the archipelago's waffle branch Vans JP to produce a very limited run of navy canvas Era JP's. The shoes boast a bit of an OG styling with high foxing. They also have BEAMS branded sock liners and two different colored flag tags, orange and blue. As you all know, this is also a very big year for Vans, with them celebrating their 50th anniversary. With that in mind, BEAMS is also offering a vinyl toy of the founding father himself, Steve Van Doren. How awesome is that? The collection will come in classic Van Doren "Custom Made for you" boxes with an added bonus of being a pullout drawer style.
The BEAMS x Vans Era JP 40th/50th Anniversary Collection is slated for release this April exclusively from BEAMS in Japan. Preorders are being taken now but they are almost gone. Get them if you can.
Two companies that are very familiar with collaborating on classic skate silhouettes with Vans are Patta and BEAMS. Next month, they will join forces with Vans JP to release the "Mean Eyed Cat" Old Skool JP. Comprised primarily of black suede with canvas notes on the upper, the white Patta branding on the sidewall really breaks up the tonal blocking nicely. The white and red foxing print is one of those details we really love and wish we'd see more of stateside. A red heeltab, dual branded sock liners, and "Team Patta" printed laces finish off this pair.
The Patta x BEAMS x Vans Japan Old Skool JP "Mean Eyed Cat"will be available September 25th at the Patta pop-up shop in Harajaku as well as BEAMS retailers throughout Japan. Don't expect a wider release to happen.
To kick off 2015, Japanese clothiers BEAMS partners with designers Hidaka Hisayo and Miyahara Hideaki of Scye to produce and updated and more luxurious Style 72. An all black suede upper sits atop a stripe-free white midsole and waffle outer. Premium square leather laces finish off the set. Along with the Stye 72, a tri-branded bandana is also available in either white or navy.
The Beams x Scye x Vans Japan Style 72 "Lacey" capsule collection is available exclusively from BEAMS Japan, so you will need a proxy to get your hands on these. Would you like to see the Style 72 make a comeback in the US? Let us know!
