Christie Shinn is a lifelong surfer and artist who lives on the North Shore in Hawaii. When she isn't waxing her board, she is creating fine art works with a focus on the smaller details and shies away from the type of postcard imagery that is most often associated with Hawaianna. With that in mind, Shinn has partnered Vans Japan for a limited pair of Slip On JP.
Shinn has done many styles of custom, hand-painted Vans in the past. For this shoe, Vans Japan took one of her pieces and transferred it to the all canvas upper of a Slip On JP. The imagery is a neo-classic Hawaiian water and floral scene with Aloha script on the heel counter of the right shoe. Shinn also design a custom woven motif for the insole. Her artwork also adorns the box art to complete the set.
The Christie Shinn x Vans Slip On JP will be available at Charlotte in Shinjuku on Sunday, July 17th. There will be events all weekend surrounding the release. You can find more info on the Charlotte website.
