Marking the 17th collaboration between Vault by Vans and Taka Hayashi, the latest collection from these two powerhouses is yet another win. Featuring the TH Sk8-Nomad LX and TH Mountain Edition Lace LO LX each in 3 different colorways and a pretty wide assortment of apparel, this drop does it like only Taka can.
Staying close to the Native American influences that have shaped his aesthetic, the TH Sk8-Nomad LX has been covered with hairy suede in either Blue Graphite, Oatmeal or an allover Taka Checkerboard pattern.
For the TH Mountain Edition Lace LO LX things get a little more refined with premium suede in either a Marshmallow, Incense or Camouflage colorway. The longer you look at any of these, the more you realize just how unwavering the attention to detail really is.
The highlight of the apparel has to be the reversible tour jacket. At first glance it looks pretty similar to the souvenir jackets that other brands have been pushing out recently, but the color and graphic choices set it apart. That olive with the sad face is fire.
To no one’s surprise, everything else is just as solid. There’s a t-shirt with a black and white stained glass print and another featuring a cat. We weren’t expecting the cat, but we’re digging it. Also worth mentioning are two short-sleeve button ups that feature an all-over tribalesque print with skating tigers.
The collection drops this Saturday, April 29th at all the usual Vault by Vans retailers.
