Back in 1989, Steve Caballero broke new ground and helped define skateboarding footwear as we know it today when he worked with Vans to create the brand’s first-ever signature shoe, the Full Cab. “Before I was sponsored by Vans, I was wearing a lot of different high tops — mostly old basketball shoes. If you look closely at the Full Cab, you can see some of the inspiration there from the ankle support to the structural top closure,” Caballero has said. Designed for the vert skateboarding scene of the early '90s, the performance and function focused shoe has become a style icon and lifestyle staple.
This winter season, Vans has updated the legendary silhouette by focusing on four seasonal colors – blanc de blanc, black, racing red and a Foot Locker exclusive, scarab green. Suede and crocodile embossed leather are paired with a first-ever gold lace lock to give the shoes a lux vibe. But they’ve left the shoe's iconic shape and flying dragon logo alone, they’re “period-perfect” to ‘90s skate style.
Retailing for $95 and available in an extended size range, the collection is available now at retailers like Foot Locker, Foot Action, Shoe Palace, Sheikh, The Athlete’s Foot and other select Vans Authorized Dealers.
